7/21/2007 - Fairmont Cup awarded!
The Rochester Chapter NRHS has a yearly award called the Fairmont Cup which is given by the Chapter's Board of Trustees to the Chapter's
outstanding volunteer for that year. Since the award is voted on by
the Board of Trustees, only those Chapter members who are not on the board are allowed to receive this unique award which is crafted from
a Fairmont carburetor. Here the 2007 winner, Dan Waterstraat, is
given the Fairmont Cup by Rochester Chapter President, Jeremy Tuke, during one of the Saturday work sessions at the Chapter's Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. Normally, the award is given out during the Chapter's annual banquet, however, Dan was not able to attend. Thus, the presentation at the museum. Congratulations Dan!

6/21/2007 - Time for a tour and something new!
For the June Chapter Meeting, one of the evening's trains has backed up track #8 for a tour of the building and a little operation of the museum's restored Plymouth BL gas-mechanical locomotive. As part of the yard construction, the panel track that has held the Plymouth captive in the building for greater than 7 years was connected to the new yard trackage finally allowing the BL full access to the museum's railroad.

6/21/2007 - Thanks Kevin!
After a successful run of the BL, chapter member Kevin Klees, Lead Restorer and BL Project Manager, poses with #1 inside the R&GVRRM's restoration building.

Custom HO replica PRR H-21g hopper car
#747803
The Rochester Chapter NRHS
is pleased to be able to offer these limited production Bowser replica
HO models of PRR H-21g hopper car #747803; part of the collection
of the Chapter's Rochester & Genesee
Valley Railroad Museum.
Sales of these cars will directly benefit the planned cosmetic
restoration of #747809 to match the HO models.
The #747803 is one of only two PRR H-21g hopper cars left in existence
from the thousands of H-21 hopper cars built. Built in 1909 as a
H-21, the #747803 received several major rebuilds to bring it to
its current H-21g class designation. As it stands now and as modeled,
the #747803 carries "P134 10/66" as part of its markings.
This is the reweigh info, and it refers to scale #134 which was
located in the Elmira yard in Elmira, NY. A reweigh took place about
every 2 years with #747803 carrying the date of October, 1966 giving
the car a New York connection.
